Our Story

 

Son Felip’s current owners fell in love with Menorca more than 40 years ago while discovering the island’s many coves on a Vespa moped during their teenage years.

Many years down the road began their interest in ecological agriculture and, upon finding the Son Felip and Algaiarens estates, they set in motion a project that combined two interests, two dreams: to preserve the essence of Menorca and to slowly revitalize and develop an age-old estate; an agricultural project based on sustainability, the regeneration of its land; a project which protects the great biodiversity of the island for social sustainability and the preservation of Menorca’s heritage.

This is a project which, from its most profound ecological perspective, can serve as an example for other agricultural and stock breeding projects on the island and around the world. Our journey is a slow one, but the planet needs many more Biosphere Reserves that will not die in idle contemplation. Humanity needs for the production of food to be brought back from Industry to the land, from the unbridled search for productivity to Ecology, nutrition and health.

There is no planet B. Our shared planet urgently needs positive role models that address an intelligent use of water, the generation and consumption of renewables energies, the regeneration of farmland, of animal welfare in farms, and commercialization of local produce. All this keeps us busy and motivated at Son Felip.

 

A working farm next to the Mediterranean Sea, Son Felip is a unique place developing high quality agriculture with barefoot luxury accommodation in a beautiful farmhouse where you can enjoy nature’s virgin beauty, its scenery, the island’s cuisine, horses, farm animals, the beaches of its North Coast… A magical and extremely private place to reconnect with oneself, friends and family.
